Terms of Service

Who we are

RubyRoles (rubyrole.com, "the service") is operated by Matthew Solt, doing business as RoboRuby, 1972 Homestead Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18018, USA ("we"). By using the service you agree to these terms.

What the service does

RubyRoles matches Ruby-related job postings, collected from public job boards and company careers pages, to the preferences you give us, and sends you matches by email. We are not an employer, a recruiter or an agent for any organization. Postings belong to the organizations that publish them; we do not verify them and cannot guarantee that a role is accurate, still open, or right for you. Applying, interviewing and any agreement you reach are between you and the organization.

Your account

You sign in with GitHub. You are responsible for your GitHub account and for the accuracy of the answers you give us. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service. You may delete your account at any time from your preferences, which removes the data we hold about you as described in the privacy policy.

Emails

After you sign up we send your first matches and then up to one new match on business days. Every such email carries an unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and you can turn matches off or change your preferences at any time. We may also send messages about your account or these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to harvest postings or personal data, to interfere with its operation, to misrepresent who you are, or in any way that breaks the law. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Content and feedback

The service's own text, design and code are ours or licensed to us. Job postings and organization details are referenced from their owners and remain theirs. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the service without any obligation to you.

No warranty and limits on liability

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a posting, an organization, or a decision you make based on a match. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service, which is nothing: the service is free.

Changes

We may change the service or these terms. When the terms change materially we will post the new version here with a new effective date, and continued use after that date means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania.
